  • Are you familiar with Jellyfin?

    https://jellyfin.org/

If you can set up a server of this then its as easy as making the library folder the output folder for yt-dlp

    https://github.com/yt-dlp/yt-dlp

I didnt even have to write me own script. I gave chatgpt a notepad with channel urls and just told it to write me code to load these urls one by one and download the Last 2 videos. (Trust me you dont want to accidentally download a whole channel). Yt dlp can maintain a log of sort so videos aren’t downloaded more then once.

I run this script on a schedule and delete the video when i am done with it. Nice and clean. I can also recommend trying to run an invididious instance for general video browsing but mine took some twiddling to setup right.

  • It has existed for a while but has been getting more mainstream ik recent years.

Its a good term because it comes from the community itself rather then being a medical label by a doctor so its inclusive to people with or without diagnosis.

It also covers many more neurological differences that are not, yet frequently overlap with, autism. adhd, dyslexia,… You dont need to self identify as sick or disabled it often just feels better for me.

  • “don’t enter any commands you see online without looking at it first. You can’t trust everyone”

This has somewhat become a staple idea of mine. People trust others online way too easily. Ai isn’t all that different in this but its more obvious to us that there is something to be scared about the uncanny valley.

What it tends to come down to is capacity for personal critical thinking which we should aim to foster more in future generations.

Maybe i assume too much that programmer-minded people naturally come with such skills for troubleshooting and will be capable of responsible ai interactions?

  • To be fair this tweet doesn’t say anything about training data but simply that it theoretically can use present day data if it looks it up online.

For gpt4 i think its was initially trained up to 2021 but it has gotten updates where data up to december 2023 was used in training. It “knows” this data and does not need to look ut up.

Whether they managed to further train the initial gpt4 model to do so or added something they trained separately is probably a trade secret.

  • This is a truly unpopular opinion but i will stick my neck out to say i fully agree.

Power corrupts, humans are flawed with greed and bias. The bigger a society becomes the more impossible it becomes for humans to properly remain in charge.

AI today is far from perfect and more then flawed but it keeps evolving faster, infinitely faster compared to how biological life can. The potential for AI to grow into something much more capable, unbiased and fair then any of is can be is obvious, so is its potential for the exact opposite.

Summarized: i don’t trust humans in positions on power at all and i wont start to just because i don’t know if i can trust something not human instead.

  • Q: So what do you do for a living?

A: “I am only the greatest scientist of our age, harnessing the computational might of soldier crabs! While others tinker with mere circuits, I’ve unlocked the organic potential of crustacean logic gates. The future, my friend, isn’t in machines, but in the scuttle of millions of tiny legs! Mwahahaha!”
