Pockets? I’ve asked my family to have my organs removed and have my body filled with cherry bombs, as well as install more cherry bombs in my limbs and joints before having my remains cremated standing upright on a stage to be viewed by all my friends and acquaintances. As my body burns and the firecrackers go off, my limbs will flail around in a comically random way before the entire body just explodes.

They’ll keep cutting everything down until people revolt because they’re facing death from starvation.

It’s a gentle balance between making people live with less and starvation. The less common people have the more money the rich make. But the rich know not to go too far because they know it will cause mass panic. They also know that most decent people can do with a lot of misery before they revolt.

The balance is also controlled by us too. How much abuse are we willing to take before acting out or organizing against it all. From the looks of things, we are willing to take a lot of abuse.

The logic and balance game I’m describing are all features that have happened before … it’s the basis of why events like the French Revolution, the American Revolution or the Communist Revolution happened in the past.

It was a choice … either have no choice but die in the old system with nothing … or fight and die for something new and have a chance of living.

The balancing game continues to be played now and the game is simply to keep things on edge but never allow it to go too far and cause people to revolt and change the system.

  • I was probably too hasty in my assumptions … simplistic, stereotypical maybe even a bit racist

I just thought it made economic sense … why build an entire economy or business using foreign owned software and basing it all on a foreign company, especially one with unknown loopholes that would put the company’s and country at risk by a foreign power.

Thanks for the correction and insight … I’ll be more careful about my assumptions in the future.

India is the eye opener … an enormous market of 1.5 billion people and the majority of them are too poor to pay for any specialty OS … it’s going to turn into a futuristic dystopia down there … people living in slums but scrounging up old neglected and forgotten hardware to bring them back online with Open Source Software.

Edit: I don’t normally make big corrections or changes to my comments but after rereading this, I think I went a bit too far with my assumptions about another country and culture … thanks @[email protected] for putting it to my attention
