Yet another Linux phone with subpar specs. That processor is quite underwhelming even compared to Google’s Tensor G1, a proc that many regard as crap as is and it beats this Dimensity 900 handily.
Got pulled into the office for using my own money on that one lol
It was because they had a form you could have filled out and gotten it paid for without any fuss right?..right??
They’re saying that if you time it right, they won’t get/hear the notification that you’ve checked in and you can slide into the right spot. Wait awhile and then you’ll get refunded because you were “waiting so long”
Which it can work TBH, it just won’t be a reliable method by any means
Yup, same, I would love to switch to a Linux/FOSS phone, but it’s all crap specs. Like this librem 5 phone. 3GB RAM and 32GB storage‽ LMAO what year is it, 2014‽
For now I’m pretty much just stuck on Pixel, one of the few remaining brands that reliably (surprisingly) let you unlock the BL. It’s even worse now since I’ve had a taste of the foldy phone and I don’t think I want to go back and that’ll probably take 15 years before ever coming to a Linux/FOSS phone, considering where they’re at now.
They’ve missed the boat entirely for me and I’m doubtful they’ll ever catch up :/
Riots I get, but…exams? You’re telling me that they’ll shutdown the entire countries cellular internet…to stop some students from… cheating?
Yea someone had to make a Lemmy spam bot, they tend to just go wherever people go, like pigeons lmao
At least I know what the bear wants.
Yea, to be able to re-build his hibernation food mountain of human junk food after a raccoon and his friends stole it again
Welp, when you’re right you’re right lol
I don’t mind having the choice at least, years ago Amazon did this with their Kindles (or maybe they still do, dunno). You were given a choice on their Kindle order page, save 40$ on an ad supported version or full price and ad-free. It even stacked (At least once anyways) with other sales they might have been running.
I chose the ad supported model… and then proceeded to root it and remove the ads LMAO
I have, that’s how I know lmao, no screen crack btw lol
It still takes two people to carry those huge thin TVs
Idk about that, I can reasonably carry up to a 65 inch by myself and I’m not particularly tall (not even 6 ft) so someone taller than me probably could conceivably carry a 75+ tv
Predator: “Fuck man, are you alright? Maybe I’ll come back later when you can give a good hunt and all that”
I figured, but I wanted to point it out because I’m so tired of seeing good SSDs get shredded or otherwise destroyed for “security”.
Shredding was already a bit overkill for HDDs that were able to be properly wiped but at least there were some possible fringe cases. There’s really no excuse for SSDs though
The proper method for destruction is to wipe the drives, then shred them.
Yes for spinny drives.
For SSDs, when you delete something TRIM + physics ensures it’s really really gone all the time
Please stop shredding SSDs that can go on to a 2nd life…
I was driving through, I think Utah, a while back and I remember seeing a billboard ad for a local bank. They were heavily leaning into religious marketing (or maybe they were a “Christian Bank”) and I remember thinking “Y’all im pretty sure Jesus had major issues with using the lord’s name for business” lmao
From time to time I have to sign a form that specifically says “Print and sign, no digital signatures”
I use Adobes “draw a signature” feature to do my squibble, then place it on the signature line taking at least a little care to make it look handwritten (So like a portion of my signature is dipping below the line etc.). Finally I print to PDF (Even if it is already PDF) and email that or use one of those fax apps if fax is absolutely required.
I haven’t had any such forms rejected (Well, at least not for “improper signature” or whatever) and I’ve been doing it on forms for well over a decade now lmao
Google is a bit better, Google allows you to both side load and unlock the bootloader. On those 2 things alone gives them at least a couple notches above Apple. Not to mention Android is designed around allowing you to customize things.
That being said, Google isn’t some savior, they’re still a giant corporation doing giant corporation things
I don’t see what Alcohol 120% has to do with anything lol
