28 days agoI think that the same principle applied to Windows/Mac, doing any administrator work without terminal seems impractical or impossible.

Arkenfox is definitely not unmaintained.
I played Genshin with it for about 6 months before I quit and it worked pretty well, the downside is that when the game is updated the launcher has to be updated too and that takes some time. I never missed the dailies though.

You skipped a few steps. Before you install Linux for your friend, you should first ask him what he uses the PC for, and if he plays games, what games does he play.

So far as I know, you still need to update to launch the game, so you need to disable automatic updates and play offline.
I remember a post on reddit asking for a SteamDeck alternative because SteamDeck uses Linux, the guy never used the SteamDeck or Linux before… The way media treats Linux is really fucking important, maybe if Linux was from a big player like Android is from Google, people wouldn’t make such a fuss about it.
