I saw a youtuber once reviewing the distro that the Russian military uses. It had some crusty retro desktop environment iirc.

Purely from the point of view of a museum visitor it’s a unique and exceptional experience being able to see so much of the worlds history and culture in one place. But at the same time it takes away something that could be really special about travelling to another country because that’s the only place where these things are on display.
This is basically why I don’t buy anything that I don’t think I can protect from being fucked with.
That’s all ownership is really.
Any company that tells you to ‘get used’ to something has massively overstepped the mark.
People you buy things from are not your boss.
Unless you are addicted to them, in which case they are.
Sounds like that Austrian guy who was caught having taken the covid vaccine hundreds of times.
Just enjoy buddy.
I actually think that it wouldn’t take too many more people using GIMP for the name of the program to be considered the primary meaning of the word in English.
No worries :) It’s a big release and is gonna really bring GIMP up to date. I’m super excited about it!
GIMP 3.0 should be out this year. If you’re interested, you can already use some of the new features (like true non-destructive editing) by running the development version.
OK thanks, will check it out :)
A good kit IMO, in order of priority:
If you like the terminal also add:
Enjoy!
Yeah it’s a shame about that. I wonder if a customer the size of the NHS could make it worth releasing Linux versions of the software though. I mean, if I can get an appimage or flatpak of some small open source cross-platform project surely someone like Canon could release one for their new ultrasound stuff. Especially if they’re being offered an order to roll it out across an entire nations health service?
It would be pretty funny if they just ran it using Wine though!
Fuck yeah. Biggest employer in Europe NHS England needs to wake up and do this too. In one single licensing agreement they handed Microsoft £163.1 million. Imagine what that could do if spent on linux development instead, or heaven forbid on actual healthcare. It actually boggles my mind that the NHS doesn’t have it’s own distro and do its own development.
Maybe designed to be used with googles Stadia (now defunct I think)?
Yeah my girlfriend’s online-only business account can only be used via their proprietary app.
Been a royal pain in the arse for her.
Thank you :)
Nice, that sounds like a sweet setup. Do you think something similar could work locally?
Thanks, I’ll check it out.
Pray nobody knocks over an ashtray on that.
